Explanation of Mini Van

A commercial van carrying capacity to ¼-tonnes. Built on the chassis of a long journey, but without side windows, it proved in the 1960s as a cheaper alternative to the popular British car: it was classified as a commercial vehicle and as such bore no sales tax. A series of simple slots stamped parts made of steel instead of a chrome grille used more expensive. The minivan was renamed Mini 95 in 1978, the number, the gross vehicle weight of 0.95 tonnes. 521 494 were built.
